Khloe Kardashian Changes Son’s Name Legally A Year After His Birth

For the past year, Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson’s baby boy legally went by the name of Baby Kardashian. However, Khloe and Tristan finally went through the steps of making their son’s name official.

Khloe Kardashian Makes Baby Boy’s Name Legal

When Tristan Thompson‘s and Khloe Kardashian’s son grows up and asks about his name, his parents may want to avoid telling him that they procrastinated for a year before choosing it. But Khloe, 39, at first just couldn’t decide on her baby boy’s name. And so she put Baby Kardashian on his birth certificate, according to People.

However, now the Good American co-founder has finally decided the time had come to name her son. And so she and Tristan legally changed their baby boy’s name from Baby Kardashian to Tristan Thompson. Court documents confirmed that a Los Angeles county judge approved the name change. 

Now 13 months old, little Tatum Thompson can someday chat with his big sister True about their views on their names. As for the last name, California law allows new parents to determine if they want their child to use the father’s last name, the mother’s last name or a combination of both. The parents’ choice becomes permanent unless a subsequent court order overrides it.

Khloe Kardashian Shares Bonding Struggles

However, the reality TV star shared on season three of The Kardashians her struggles in bonding with her son. Khloe and Thompson, 32, welcomed their son in July 2022 via surrogate. But Khloe fretted that she couldn’t seem to bond in the wake of the surrogacy.

However, Khloe’s mother Kris Jenner urged her daughter to realize that she needed to relax and appreciate her parenting skills. And Khloe confessed, “I wish I wasn’t so critical of myself. Because I’m very kind to everyone else. I’m just not very kind to myself. But being a mom is truly one of, just the most magical experiences ever.”

And when Tatum celebrated his first birthday, Kardashian wrote on Instagram, “Happy birthday, my sweet son! I am a firm believer in that God gives you what you need and I needed you. God knew my heart needed you.”

And Khloe shared her gratitude for her baby’s “sweet and precious smile, angelic spirit, [and] love only you could give me.” The reality TV star also shared her pride in her son’s “beautiful, gentle, loving, infectious spirit. You light up every single room. There’s no denying that. Everyone smiles when they look at you!”

But the reality TV star then gushed about how her daughter True adored her little brother. And Kardashian revealed that her son “changed mine and True’s lives forever. We both needed you. I knew she would be a fantastic, loving older sister,” added Khloe. “But I don’t think I ever could’ve imagined the love and bond you guys already have. You both remind me so much of uncle Bob and I. It’s fitting since I think you look soooo much like your uncle. (Which means I think you look like my dad too).”
