Khloe Kardashian — Khloe Feels Excluded
Of Khloe’s siblings, Khloe is the female that came in a plus size and that became a very big issue for her as fans of the Kardashians do refer to Khloe as the “Ugly Kardashian” and that’s not all, according to Khloe while having an interview with Health Magazine last year October, she always feel excluded and the exclusion luckily, is not by her family but by the sales personnel she meets whenever she goes shopping with her family, she always gets told that the clothes they sell are not in her sizes thereby making her shop separately from them.
“I always felt excluded from my own family — not by them. On shopping trips, I couldn’t shop where they shopped. I’d be indirectly told by brands that their clothes weren’t for me because they didn’t produce a dress in my size.”
Due to Khloe’s experience growing up and how the society viewed her, Khloe doesn’t want her 4-year-old daughter True Thompson who she shares with her ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson, to have the kind of experience she had.
Khloe Kardashian — On How She Makes True Feel Validated
When Khloe built her fashion company “Good American” she made sure “representation and inclusivity” were the key factors, she goes the extra mile of using the whole body size and types to model her clothes. Now, in a recent interview Khloe had with Elle, Khloe revealed what she does to make her daughter feel validated in a society where you’re been judged for looking a certain way.
True Thompson is quite very tall for her age because her parents are tall as well but when people want to address True they call True “Big” so Khloe made it a duty to correct them that her daughter isn’t big but tall. “She’s very tall. People will always say, ‘She’s so big.’ And I’ll say, ‘Oh, she’s so tall’. I try to make them be more descriptive. I know what an adult means when they say that, but I don’t want her to misinterpret that.”
The earlier she starts the better otherwise the word big would be associated with True’s name thereby creating a narrative that she’s big in the 4-year-old’s head. Khloe admitted to understanding what the people calling True big meant by that (they were amazed by how fast True grew that they call her big), So Khloe chose to not let that word form something else in her daughter’s mind so she corrects them at the spot.
