Kim Basinger Opens Up About the State Of Her Relationship With Ex Alec Baldwin

Kim Basinger‘s relationship with ex Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria may not be likened to peanut butter and jelly, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist, or that it’s nothing to write home about.

Kim Basinger Opens Up About the “Great Relationship” She Has With Ex Alec Baldwin

It’s been 23 years since Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger filed for divorce. However, this doesn’t mean that they’re permanently cut off from each other, as they still have the occasional chat.

“Alec and I have a great relationship. I have great respect for where he is today, and his family,” Basinger told Variety in a new interview published Thursday.

The ‘Never Say Never’ actress then noted that even though they “don’t spend Christmases and holidays or see each other very much,” they make time to chat on the phone.

This is coming after fans and critics alike ripped into The Baldwins’ reality TV show, which many saw as Alec trying to rehabilitate his image following ‘The Rust’ drama.

The backlash the TLC show received was palpable, not to add certainly laughable.

Writing for The Guardian, British TV critic Lucy Mangan said, “The Baldwins review – Alec’s dreadful reality show is a new low for TV.”

Tom Peck’s review for The Times was titled, “Why Alec Baldwin’s reality show is one of the truly great crimes against TV.”

If you thought he had some winners, in comes Ed Power with the scathing review that the show was “Alec’s self-pitying attempt at image rehabilitation.”

If the title wasn’t enough slap, Powers wrote, “Alec Baldwin was once a rival of Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt for the title of Hollywood’s pre-eminent heartthrob.

But where those actors continue to enjoy A-list careers, the Hunt for Red October star is now reduced to starring in a humiliating Kardashians-style reality show.”

For fans, calling the show a Kardashians-style series is giving it more flowers than it deserves.
