Paris Fashion Week 2022 offered a surprise in the form of Kanye West orchestrating a Yeezy Fashion Show. But among the OMG events offered in that show, his daughter North West stole the spotlight. And the proud father even helped his 9-year-old shine, noted Page Six.

Kanye’s fashion show comes in the wake of his fall 2020 presentation. But the Yeezy show at Paris Fashion Week also offered some unique highlights. And North led the way in a children’s choir. The choir featured both kids and teens who donned black pants and black shirts. But North proved her star power with her enthusiastic singing from the middle of the rotunda.

North also guided the group in leaving the stage so the supermodels could form a circle for the fashion show’s finale. And Kanye didn’t lack for star power. His chosen models included Naomi Campbell, Amelia Hamlin, and Michèle Lamy. But among the models wearing catsuits and White Lives Matter shirts, Kanye himself led the show.

Kanye West – Wears White Lives Matter Shirt In His Fashion Show

However, even before West started the Yeezy season 9 fashion show, he managed to shock Paris Fashion Week with his outfit and speech. Donning a White Lives Matter shirt with the Pope’s face on the front, Kanye stepped out in bedazzled flip-flops. And his speech ranged from mentioning his fashion week struggles to his ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s robbery in 2016, noted Page Six.

“I am Ye,” began West in introducing himself. “And everyone here knows that I am the leader.” But he also issued a caution. “You can’t manage me,” added Kim’s ex husband.

However, Kanye also baffled the audience by reciting a laundry list of names that he indicated would model during his show. And that list included Kim Kardashian, West’s ex-girlfriend Irina Shayk, his current girlfriend Candice Swanepoel, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Angelina Jolie, Lauryn Hill, and more. But at the end of the day, only Naomi Campbell, Irina, and Amelia Gray Hamlin represented the list in the fashion show.

However, the parade of models wearing White Lives Matter shirts drew mixed reactions from social media. For instance, one Twitter critic reacted harshly. “Sending a “WHITE LIVES MATTER” t-shirt down a runway in Paris is literal insanity,” wrote the social media commentator. “And no amount of gospel is getting that man through Heaven’s gate. I’m so sorry.”

But West shared his concept for his fashion show. And he explained he wanted to unite the world through his styles. “There’s just people. From the same planet. And sometimes, in high school, it feels like we don’t fit in,” pointed out Kanye. However, the Yeezy fashion designer shared that he feels his show offered a vision for a more positive future. “And in a situation like this, we have the opportunity to come together to express who we are. It’s leaning into the shape of how I see this future world … this alternate world,” he added.
