Gypsy Rose Blanchard admitted to wanting to meet Kim Kardashian. She wanted to team up with Kim Kardashian on prison reform. In Season 5 of The Kardashians, her dream comes true. On Thursday, May 23, the premiere streamed on Hulu.

In a preview for the rest of the season, Kim knocks on someone’s door. She meets with the newly freed Gypsy Rose Blanchard.

The SKIMS founder wears a dark brown shearling-lined coat with a black shirt underneath. Kim smiles and greets Gypsy with a hug.

“Hi, Gypsy!” Kim Kardashian says. Gypsy wears a white lace blouse with a black skirt. She exclaims, “Hi!” before the two go in for a hug. While the moment wasn’t planned, some fans shared their doubts. Some believe Kim staged this scene to hitch onto Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s newly found fame.

Gypsy expressed her interest in working with Kim on prison reform. She spent eight years behind bars for murdering her controlling mother. Kim followed Gypsy’s story.

She included her 2017 documentary, Mommy Dead and Dearest, and her must-watch list of true crime shows. Gypsy responded, “Maybe we should unite forces to make real change within the justice system.”

Called Out For ‘Desperate’ Act

Kim Kardashian worked on getting inmates released early from prison. She also worked with the wrongly accused. The busy entrepreneur is studying to become a lawyer.

Yet, fans see this as a “desperate” attempt at relevancy. Many of them took to Reddit to share their thoughts on this scene. It’s safe to say that most of them weren’t happy about Kim’s meeting with Gypsy.

“The Kardashians will milk whoever is viral at the moment for relevancy,” one fan wrote.

“Is this desperation? Like, seriously, Gypsy Rose? I can’t think of anything they have in common other than looking for their 15 minutes of fame any way they can. This is so weird for me!” another user used.

“Kim supposedly works to get people who are wrongly convicted out of prison. So how is working with someone who was just convicted good for her ‘work?'” questioned a third fan.
