Kim Kardashian Reveals Kris Humphries Paid Only 1/5 of Her Ring and Took It Back After Divorce

Kim Kardashian Reveals Kris Humphries Paid Only 1/5 of Her Ring and Took It Back After DivorceKim Kardashian’s whirlwind marriage to Kris Humphries may have ended in just 72 days, but there’s one lingering detail she recently revisited—the engagement ring.

On the latest episode of The Kardashians, Kim, 44, reflected on the rings from her past relationships while chatting with her sister, Khloé Kardashian.

Reflecting on Past Engagement Rings

The SKIMS mogul mused about what her “next ring shape” might be, playfully referring to it as her “last and final hoorah.” As the conversation unfolded, she took a trip down memory lane, recounting each of her three engagement rings.

Her first? A cushion-cut, 14-karat sparkler from her marriage to music producer Damon Thomas.

Her second, the most controversial, was an 18-karat emerald-cut ring from NBA player Kris Humphries, crafted by renowned jeweler Lorraine Schwartz. But unlike the first, Kim no longer has it.

The Controversy Behind the Ring

“I didn’t keep that,” she revealed. “I was pregnant with [daughter] North [West], still married to him, and in order to divorce him, he said I had to give him the ring in my divorce.”

That demand came with a surprising twist—Kim had largely paid for the ring herself. “He contributed a fifth,” she clarified, prompting her hairstylist, Chris Appleton, to react with a stunned “Jesus.” He later called the situation “savage.”

Lorraine Schwartz, who was with Kim and Khloé on a trip to Mumbai for the high-profile Ambani wedding, reassured Kim that parting with the ring was “for the best.” Still, Kim admitted, “I would’ve loved a collection.”

Looking Back and Moving Forward

Though she rarely speaks about her brief marriage to Humphries, the moment sparked some lighthearted jokes between Kim and Khloé. When Khloé reconnected with her ex-husband Lamar Odom earlier this season, Kim playfully asked, “Should I call Kris Humphries?”

Khloé quipped back, “That’s what I said. Get all the ex-husbands on here.”

Kim has previously opened up about feeling pressured into the 2011 wedding, largely because it was being filmed for Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

Looking back, she admitted, “I thought, ‘Okay, we’re filming this for a TV show. If I leave, I’m going to be known as the runaway bride forever, and it’s going to be a huge joke. I think I just have cold feet.’”

But as she later acknowledged, she handled the breakup poorly and owed Humphries an apology. “I was so nervous to break up with someone, I handled it totally the wrong way,” she admitted. “I learned so much from it.”

Since then, Kim has built a billion-dollar empire and moved on from her short-lived marriage to Humphries. As for Kris, he has taken a different path—he now owns several Dave’s Hot Chicken franchises in Minnesota.

While the past may hold a few regrets, Kim seems more focused on what the future holds, both in love and in business. And who knows? Maybe that “last and final hoorah” will come with another dazzling ring.
