Parker Stevenson – Honors Ex Wife Kirstie Alley After Her Death
Friends united with family and fans to mourn the death of Kirstie Alley. And among them, the actress’ ex husband Parker Stevenson paid tribute. Turning to Instagram, Parker expressed gratitude for his years with Kirstie, noted Page Six.
Stevenson, known for shows such as the Hardy Boys, honored the Emmy-winning actress in the form of a letter. And he posted a throwback picture to accompany it. “Dear Kirstie,” began Parker. “I am so grateful for our years together, and for the two incredibly beautiful children and now grandchildren that we have.”
And the Baywatch actor, 70, kept his final words to his ex wife short and sweet. “You will be missed,” summed up Stevenson. “With love, Parker.” Stevenson and Alley married in 1983. The couple delighted in their children, son William 30, and daughter Lillie, 28, before ending their marriage in 1997.

The tribute from Stevenson came after his children with Kirstie shared the news of her passing on social media. And William and Lillie wrote about their heartbreak. They also shared the cause of death.
“We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered,” noted the siblings. “She was surrounded by her closest friends and family and fought with great strength. As iconic as she was on screen, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother.”

And Kirstie’s children used her Twitter account to share their lengthy message about their mother’s passing. However, the actress’ rep told People that Alley died from colon cancer. In their social media statements, Kirstie’s children also revealed that she had only discovered the cancer recently. But prior to her death, she had received treatment at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida.

Kirstie became famous in 1987 in the role of Rebecca Howe on the beloved show Cheers. And Alley won both a Golden Globe for best actress and an Emmy for outstanding lead actress for that role. Alley’s co-stars on Cheers honored her when they learned about her death.
For instance, Kelsey Grammer shared, “I always believed grief for a public figure is a private matter, but I will say I loved her.” And Ted Danson called Kirstie “truly brilliant.” But he added, “I am so sad and so grateful for all the times she made me laugh. I send my love to her children. As they well know, their mother had a heart of gold. I will miss her.”
