Laura Prepon Speaks Out That “Scientology Is No Longer Part Of My Life”
The actress opened up in a new interview about not practicing Scientology in almost five years, saying that she’s dabbled in other religious methods as well, but would rather now just stick to meditation.
“I’m no longer practicing Scientology,” she told the outlet. “I’ve always been very open-minded, even since I was a child. I was raised Catholic and Jewish. I’ve prayed in churches, meditated in temples. I’ve studied Chinese meridian theory. I haven’t practiced Scientology in close to five years and it’s no longer part of my life.”
Presently, the actress finds her solace in meditating, which she does with her husband, Ben Foster, and she especially loves that it’s something she can get to do together with him. “We meditate daily and I’m really liking it,” she said, adding, “because it’s something that helps me to hear my own voice and it’s something we can do together.”
Laura Originally Opened Up About Her Practice Of Scientology During An Interview With Celebrity Magazine
“So, when I first got into Scientology, I did Personal Values and Integrity and then Overcoming Ups and Downs in Life,” she shared with the magazine in 2014. “These courses touched on the observations I was aware of when I was younger. It was right there in black and white. It was amazing, and I felt that finally something was speaking my language. It totally connected with me. Pretty soon after that I got onto the Purification Rundown, and I started moving up the Bridge.”
But now, having let go of the Scientology part of her life, the mom-of-two finds pleasure enjoying a “quieter” life at home presently. “Life is slowly starting to have some semblance of normalcy again, so for now, it’s just work, family and trying to get a laugh when we can,” she also told PEOPLE.
