Actress Lindsay Lohan recently confirmed that Freaky Friday 2, is officially a go. She also notes that both she and Jamie Lee Curtis would be a part of the sequel that is set for production, over two decades after the original film was released.
Lindsay told Sirius’s Andy Cohen Live on Monday, March 4 that she didn’t want to say, “too much”, but both she and Jamie are excited about the project.
Lindsay Lohan – More On “Freaky Friday 2”
The 2003 film was a remake of the original 1976 movie that starred a very young Jodie Foster. Jamie Lee Curtis played the typical busy suburban mom Tess, while Lohan played the typical funky teenager, Anna.
Of course, as the story goes, the two swap bodies after a major mom-teen fight, and a wish that is made. The movie became a cult classic, and the two costars have stayed close over the years.
In fact, in the fall of 2023, Curtis teased a Freaky Friday sequel and touted a reunion with Lohan, on social media.
She notes that Lindsay “grew up” and “so beautifully”. Jamie added that “it’s Friday, and the strike is over” (referring to the writer’s strike), so “hopefully, we can switch places” again.
Lindsay Lohan – Another Movie Needed To Be Made
In fact, Curtis also told The New York Times in the spring of 2023 that as she promoted Halloween Ends, she had a lot of people ask her about another Freaky Friday flick.
Curtis notes that it struck a chord, and when she returned from the publicity tour, she called Disney and said, “it feels like” a movie should be made.
Meanwhile, Lohan has also been busy as of late, starring in the movie Irish Wish, and the 2022 film, Falling For Christmas.
Irish Wish is a new romantic comedy, where Lohan plays Maddie, a woman who is watching her best friend get engaged to the man of her dreams.
On top of all that, the 37-year-old is also quite busy in her personal life, as a new mom of a seven-month-old.
