Lisa Marie Presley was rumored to have had opioids in her system when she passed away in January this year. The daughter of Elvis was aged just 54 when she passed away, and now her cause of death seems to have been established and it was possibly tied to using opioids. When the news arrived that she was in a hospital, the alarming situation revealed that she was in a coma. At the time, leaks suggested that she was attended to by EMTs in her home house in Calabasas.
Apparently, they managed to get her pulse going but her transfer to the hospital was not able to save her life. In fact, reporters suggested that her family didn’t want any resuscitation done as she was brain-dead upon admission,
Lisa Marie Presley passed away from cardiac arrest. But it wasn’t long before suggestions of opioid use were revealed. The link to using opioids came via a source, and they claimed that she had started taking them again. Other news that filtered through also suggested that her final cardiac arrest came as a result of taking too many, which caused her to shed a lot of weight.

New reports by TMZ revealed that there wasn’t any paraphernalia or opioids found in her home. However, there might be a link that led to her demise. The outlet reported on July 13, that while “Her urine toxicology screen was negative,” there were traces of both “Oxycodone…[and] Buprenorphine in her blood.” If you don’t know, “Buprenorphine… is to treat opioid overuse.” Additionally, she had traces of “Quetiapine, an antipsychotic drug.”
It seems very sad that Lisa Marie Presley died for what sounds like something small. Apparently, it started with a bowel obstruction that might be linked to gastric surgery. The outlet also talked about how prescription drugs after a procedure could have helped to cause her to become constipated. However, according to sources, she had a habit of not taking them on time, or taking them more than once, if she forgot. Possibly, that exacerbated the blockage.

When the outlet shared the news on Instagram, those people who saw the cause of the death of Lisa Marie Presley reacted in the comments on Instagram. One of them wrote, “That’s a dishonest headline. Shame on you TMZ.” The outlet had headlined the story on Instagram as “Opioids Found On Lisa Marie’s System.” Well, it wasn’t a lie. They were found, but many people assumed that she had overdosed and died from being an addict.

Another person noted that many people in America use opioids. Notably, the final official cause of death is yet to be released.
