Lizzo, the four-time Grammy-winning artist, continues to address her fitness goals while dismissing unfounded rumors circulating on social media.

The 36-year-old singer responded to speculation about her using Ozempic, a prescription drug commonly used to manage type 2 diabetes but also linked to weight loss, after sharing posts documenting her physical transformation.

The History of Lizzo’s Ozempic Accusations

On September 20, Lizzo posted a lighthearted Instagram video, where she smiled at the camera. Accompanied by a playful caption, she wrote, “When you finally get Ozempic allegations after 5 months of weight training and calorie deficit.”

The video featured audio from Django Unchained where Christoph Waltz’s character humorously says, “It’s like a reward.”

However, the star also called out a particularly rude comment left on one of her posts, where a follower asked, “Did she use Ozempic or did she snort coke?” Lizzo’s candid response, “Whyyyy do u follow me?” was followed by her sharing the screenshot of the exchange and captioning the post, “‘oZeMpIc oR cOkE?’ – a fan,” punctuated with several crying face emojis.

A Transparent Fitness Journey

In recent months, Lizzo has been open about her fitness efforts. Despite ongoing scrutiny, she remains committed to updating her fans on her progress. She often shares behind-the-scenes glimpses of her routine, from arm workouts to skipping rope on balconies.

In a September 19 TikTok post, the singer showed her progress while donning attire from her shapewear brand, Yitty. The video was set to Nicki Minaj’s viral soundbite: “The fact that you would even discuss my looks is insane. I’m a bad bitch, always been a bad bitch.” Her caption, “Fine both ways,” emphasized her body positivity and confidence.

In an earlier TikTok post, Lizzo explained that her approach to fitness isn’t about weight loss, but rather mental health.

Lizzo revealed that incorporating exercise into her life has shifted her mindset. “I have a very high-performance job,” she explained.”For 90 minutes a night, I have to do choreography, I have to sing, I have to dance, I have to rap and I have to play the flute. And I have to emote, and hype a crowd in very tight clothes, sometimes clothes where it restricts my breathing.” She added that focusing on her health has helped her feel more grounded in her profession.

Beyond fitness, Lizzo has teased fans with updates about her creative work. The singer has described the music she’s currently working on as “the BEST music of my life.”

On Instagram, Lizzo expressed her excitement for her upcoming album, stating that like her previous work, it’s a “body of twerk.” She encouraged her fans to listen to it in full, suggesting they enjoy it with their favorite drink and an open heart. “This is more than music to me… this is my soul poured out and bared to the world,” she wrote.

Lizzo has always been a strong supporter of perseverance and self-love. She encouraged her followers in a message from last month, stating, “If you’re reading this… remember you can do ANYTHING you put your mind to! Stay focused, you got this .”

Lizzo discussed her mental health earlier this year and acknowledged the difficulties she has had.
