Macaulay Culkin may now be a father but he is never above some of the antics he displayed in ‘Home Alone.’
His latest one was leading his young son on a wild ride that he is the actor of ‘Home Alone.’ And when I said “he,” I meant the young son not Culkin, who actually is the star of the Christmas classic.
Macaulay Culkin Introduces Young Sons To ‘Home Alone’
Culkin shares son Dakota, 3, and another 2-year-old, whose name is still under wraps, with fiancée Brenda Song.
I know that as we approach the holiday season, watch ‘Home Alone’ is probably already pencilled in on our Christmas plans – I know it’s in mine, but Culkin is way ahead of us and has already introduced his sons to his hit Christmas movie, which also happens to be one of the biggest holiday movies ever made, btw.
Anyway, in a new chat with E! News, Culkin, who played the troublemaking Kevin McCallister across two movies in the ‘Home Alone’ franchise, revealed that he shared the movie with his kids and his son Dakota had a hilarious reaction to it.
According to the dad of two, his young son started confusing scenes from the movie with his own childhood memories. “He thinks he’s Kevin,” Culkin told the outlet.
“I’m like, ‘Do you remember going down the stairs on the sled?’ He’s like, ‘Mmhmm, yep. Sure do.’ I’m like, ‘Do you remember when he had yellow hair?’ And he’s like, ‘Uh-huh, yep.'”
Dakota went on to detail to his father how he “fought the burglars,” to which Culkin, deciding he could take it no more, replied, “You’re a lying liar who lies.'” He then added to his toddler, “That was me!'”
Macaulay Culkin’s Younger Brother Shares Reason Why His Kids Aren’t Ready For ‘Home Alone’
Culkin starred in the 1990 movie alongside his brother, Kieran Culkin, who played one of his cousins in the movie.
And while Culkin believes his children are old enough to enjoy the movie, Kieran would rather wait one more year, or even two.
In a recent interview, Kieran revealed the reason he hasn’t let his young children, daughter Kinsey, 5, and son Wilder, 3, watch the movie.
“There’s still some scary parts,” the dad of two explained. “For the 3-year-old, there’s the tarantula [and] there’s the guy at the end who said, ‘I’m gonna bite off all your fingers.’ That’s scary for a 3-year-old.”
“We think they might be ready for Home Alone this year,” he added. “If not, next year.”
