Madonna Blames Camera For Distorted Look At the 65th Grammy Awards

To be sure, Madonna has been the center of more than a few controversies throughout her successful career, but hearing that she looks like an “alien” during her latest appearance at the Grammys would have no doubt shocked her for a moment. And now she’s got quite a few words for all those mocking her looks online, and they sting!

Madonna is angry that people are choosing to focus on a viral picture of her face than the beautiful words she said before introducing Sam Smith and Kim Petras to perform their hit song “Unholy” at the Grammys. (Sam Smith is nonbinary and Kim Petras is openly transgender).

After her face went viral and was compared with creepy dolls and masks from movies, the star took to Instagram to address the new trend of figuring out what Madonna resembles.

At the Sunday event, Madonna praised Sam Smith and Kim Petras’ performance, calling it progressive in the right way, but no one cared for it. For this, she said: “Instead of focusing on what I said in my speech which was about giving thanks for the fearlessness of artists like Sam and Kim — many people chose to only talk about close-up photos of me taken with a long lens camera by a press photographer that would distort anyone’s face!”

Madonna’s Obsession With Plastic Surgery

Following what Madonna called her “history-making” appearance, the “La Isla Bonita” received a torrent of abuse on her Instagram page and online because of what people called the result of her “obsession with plastic surgery,” even though the 64-year-old is yet to admit she had any surgical enhancements.

“I have never apologized for any of the creative choices I have made nor the way that I look or dress and I’m not going to start,” she wrote in the post. “I have been degraded by the media since the beginning of my career but I understand that this is all a test and I am happy to do the trailblazing so that all the women behind me can have an easier time in the years to come.”
