The Queen of pop is enlisting the help of her fans prior to making a very important decision, and she wants us all to take a deep breath and give her a rewarding answer. La Isla Bonita, indeed.
Madonna – Does Not Want To Shrink And Become Smaller Over Biopic Troubles
’90s Madonna was not a quitter, and if you’re still waiting for her to become a quitter now, either give up or keep waiting. The Grammy winning popstar, 66, is not giving up on her biopic just because it hit some roadblocks.
In fact, she’s even looking to make it longer for the satisfaction of her fans. Is a TV show the sort of thing you want from Madonna?
“After struggling for days in LA, listening to producers and agents Tell me why I couldn’t make my film… I realized that everything in my life is going to be challenged,” the “Papa Don’t Preach” hitmaker captioned pics featuring her and friends, including designer Willy Chavarria, multimedia artist Jess Cuevas and artist Nadia Lee Cohen.
Set to her 2003 song “Hollywood,” Madonna confessed that getting things done hasn’t always been easy for her, despite her massive fame and decades-long success.
“No easy rides for me. I guess I should be grateful.. It forces me to think outside the box. I did not have a normal life,” she continued. “I cannot make this in the normal way. Spending time with my creative friends was just the fuel I needed to keep going! We all agreed that we need to be even more fearless!!!”
“We cannot shrink and make ourselves smaller. If you want something badly enough in life — the whole universe will conspire to [help] you get it,” she added.
Without any warning, she asked, “Should I make the story of my life into a series or a feature Film[?] Think before you answer.”
Okay, I’m pretty sure I’d vote both?
But the drama didn’t stop there, because her longtime friend Debi Mazar took time to weigh in on the musician’s latest query, saying, “I think a film or series would be amazing ..but [what] about the book 1st? Then no one can get it wrong?”
What Happened To Madonna’s Biopic Proposed By Universal
It was happy news all around when Universal announced that it was developing a film with the megastar and mother-of-six set to direct as well as co-write with Oscar winner Diablo Cody.
“I want to convey the incredible journey that life has taken me on as an artist, a musician, a dancer — a human being, trying to make her way in this world,” Madonna said in a statement at the time.
Sadly, Cody departed from the project the very next year and in 2023, Variety broke the news that the project was no longer moving forward at Universal, despite Julia Garner already being attached to star.
