Madonna’s plastic surgery confession comes only days after fans noticed how different her face looked at the 2023 Grammys. But the singer didn’t refer to fans’ confusion. Instead, Madonna turned to Twitter to ask her followers to admire her after her procedure.

“Look how cute i am now that swelling from surgery has gone down. Lol ,” wrote the singer to her Twitter fans. And she accompanied her request with a pic. As the photo revealed, Madonna’s face looks much younger than her 64 years. And the photo showed the singer in casual blue jeans, tights, a jacket, and a cap with the slogan Spiritually Hungry.

And the singer, who initially turned heads for her different look when she introduced Kim Petras at the Grammys, sparked a new backlash. But others noted the irony in Madonna admitting plastic surgery now. Because in an Instagram post just after the Grammys, the singer criticized those who speculated that she chose to undergo procedures to make her look younger. Rather than listen to her speech “about giving thanks for the fearlessness of artists like Sam and Kim, many people chose to only talk about…me,” claimed the singer. And Madonna shared that the photos “would distort anyone’s face!!” But she also slammed critics who exhibited the “ageism that permeates the world we live in.”
