Margot shared that she . gave Pitt a kiss that did not get included in the script, noted Newsweek.

And some critics felt that staging that impromptu kiss represents an “assault.” Moreover, they claimed that if the actress were a man telling that story, she would get “canceled” in the cancel culture era. But Margot told her story as if she thought it seemed like a funny, upbeat account of life on set.

Filmmaker Damien Chazelle, noted for movies such as La La Land, created Babylon as a way to show life in 1920s Hollywood. And with Margot and Brad as the co-stars, the film follows the journey from silent films to so-called talkies. But Robbie shared that she changed the script to something Chazelle didn’t plan.

“You know that was improvised?” revealed Margot about kissing Brad. “That wasn’t in the script.” However, the actress explained why she decided to add the smooch. “But I thought, ‘when else am I gonna get the chance to kiss Brad Pitt. I’m just gonna go for it.’ It was just great.“

But Twitter didn’t agree with Robbie’s view of what constituted a great addition. For instance, one critic wrote, “Man would get canceled for the same thing.” And another asked, “Is that not assault?” Several agreed that a man making that confession would get slammed for the confession. “Now imagine if this was the other way around,” posted one such critic on social media.

And others pointed to the new trend in hiring intimacy coordinators for all film sets. Some feel that this position should become mandatory to protect actors of both genders.
