Find out why Mariah views touring with her twins on a Christmas concert as a full-circle moment. And keep reading to learn all the ways that the beloved singer has won Christmas once more.

Mariah Carey Embodies Christmas Spirit

Last year, Mariah Carey didn’t enjoy her “most fun version of Christmas ever.” But her disappointment in not getting to trademark her title Queen Of Christmas caused her to make a vow. And she told People, “So … come hell or high water, we’re going to have fun!”

The singer of that beloved song “All I Want for Christmas Is You” felt disappointed last year when the Federal Trademark Board refused to give her the title of Queen of Christmas. But after achieving 19 No. 1 hits, a bestselling memoir, and even a Mariah Carey Barbie, the singer feels positive about 2023.

And Mariah shared that she’s made a change to her annual Christmas concert. Previously held in New York City and Las Vegas, Carey will go national this year with 14 cities on her tour.

And the songstress shared that to prepare for her 14-city tour, she has “been working day and night on this one. I worked with some incredible people on this, like Miss Debbie Allen.” And with help from the Fame movie legend as her creative director and choreographer, Mariah hopes to make Christmas brighter for her audiences.

“I’ll be doing songs I’ve never done before, some duets,” shared the singer. But she teased, “I’ve got to keep some surprises.” However, two additions seem impossible to keep as a secret: Mariah’s 12-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, will perform with her.

The singer co-parents her twins with her ex-husband Nick Cannon. And because Mariah was pregnant with the twins when she wrote one of her favorite holiday songs, touring with her children feels like a full-circle moment.

Mariah Carey Loves Christmas Classic Songs

That song, Christmas Time Is in the Air Again, takes its inspiration from songs of the 1950s, revealed Carey. And she admits that she loves Christmas classics. For instance, each year, Mariah listens to Nat King Cole’s The Christmas Song.

And she confessed, “Some songs like that will give me a melancholy feeling. But I still just soak that up because I love it so much. At the holidays, I love listening to the songs I grew up hearing.”

Meanwhile, the proud mom feels thrilled to tour with her children. But she doesn’t know if either or both twins will want to become singers like their mom when they grow up. However, she enjoys sharing the stage with them on tour.

“As they grow up and decide what to do with their lives, it’s really nice for me to be able to see them performing onstage,” reflected Mariah. “I even like watching them getting ready, preparing to perform. Tonight, before I left the house, my son was practicing on something he’s doing for the show.”

Highlights include her twins rapping Here Comes Santa Claus. And the tour also includes a duet. But Mariah also makes sure to take time for her role as mom rather than duet partner. And she shared, “We’re going to see how I juggle those two responsibilities” on the tour.
