Nick Cannon needs to prepare for a custody crisis involving his ex-wife Mariah Carey. And several sources warn that the songstress doesn’t intend to back away from the challenge. As a result, Cannon might need to consider his future as dad to the twins he shares with Carey.
Find out about Mariah’s war over custody with Nick. And learn why she wants primary custody of their twins. Get all the details below.
Mariah Carey – Seeks Primary Custody Of Nick Cannon’s Twins
Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey face a custody crisis. And sources warn that Cannon may want to prepare for losing primary custody of his twins with Carey. Because the father of 12 already juggles his fathering time, it looks like Nick won’t stand much of a chance, according to the Enquirer.
And insiders claim that Mariah feels frustrated with the situation. As a result, the songstress has allegedly begun the process of getting primary custody of their twins. But it would mean a big change from their previously friendly joint custody arrangement.
However, since their divorce in 2014, Carey has watched Cannon in affairs that resulted in multiple babies with various baby mamas. As a result, she feels that Nick, 42, just can’t make enough time to justify shared custody of the twins. And so the 52-year-old songstress wants primary custody of 11-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan.
Nick Cannon’s 12 Kids Made Mariah Carey Decide On Primary Custody
Because Cannon just welcomed his 12th child, Mariah became more determined to get primary custody of the twins she shares with Nick. Cannon’s 12th baby is a daughter named Halo Marie, who he shares with Alyssa Scott. And that baby arrived just weeks apart from Cannon’s 11th child, who marked his third with Abby De La Rosa, noted Radar.
Add in Nick co-parenting other kids with baby mamas Bre Tiesi, LaNisha Cole, and Brittany Bell, and Mariah wants to give Nick “notice” about her views, shared an insider. And she feels she can achieve that goal by petitioning for primary custody. However, “Monroe and Moroccan are usually with Mariah anyway. Nick doesn’t see much of them,” added the source.
And the insider praised Cannon as a loving dad. But though he tries to make time for the twins, Mariah feels that Nick just can’t share equally in co-parenting. As a result, she “wants to put him on notice that he can’t just flit in and out of their lives while he attends to his other children. And she wants legal standing as the twins’ primary caregiver,” added the source.
However, Carey does not want to punish Cannon. But she does feel she needs to do what seems best for their twins. And that means getting primary custody.
