Mariah Carey, known as the Queen Of Christmas, chose the holidays to break up with her boyfriend of seven years, Bryan Tanaka. And insiders have revealed that the songstress found not just one but two reasons to split from her boyfriend.
Find out the issues behind Carey splitting from Tanaka. And keep reading to learn how the songstress dropped clues to the split earlier this year.
Mariah Carey Calls It Quits With Bryan Tanaka
Add Mariah Carey and Bryan Tanka to the list of celebrity breakups that no one predicted in 2023! And insiders told Page Six that Mariah and Bryan ended their relationship for two key reasons.
First, after seven years together, Tanaka decided that he wants a different future than Carey. And that involves the 40-year-old newly single backup dancer welcoming his own kids into his life, said the source.
However, Mariah, 54, does not want more children other than her 12-year-old twins. And the age gap of 14 years also caused Tanaka and Carey to split, according to the source. “He wants to have a family. That’s not where she is at,” summed up the insider.
Mariah Carey Content With Her Twins
And Carey feels content to co-parent her 12-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with her ex-husband Nick Cannon. However, Tanaka does not have any children of his own and now wants them.
But observers noticed a clue about the breakup earlier this week. And after seven years together, Mariah went without her now-ex backup dancer boyfriend on her annual trip to Aspen, Colorado. However, Tanaka also did not participate in Carey’s “Merry Christmas One and All!” tour that began in November at the Yaamava Resort & Casino in Highland, California.
After working with Mariah as a dancer beginning in 2006, Bryan started dating the songstress in 2016. But now “he wants to start having his own life,” revealed another insider. And Carey actually sparked rumors about relationship problems earlier this month.
Looking back, Mariah mentioned that she went through a year filled with challenges. And she confessed, “I’ve been looking forward to this Christmas for, like, the whole year. Since last year — because last year wasn’t the greatest.”
However, Carey added, “I’m thankful for them all. But it wasn’t my most fun version of Christmas ever.” As a result, the songstress promised to enjoy herself amid the 2023 holiday season “come hell or high water.” And the Grammy winner and Tanaka have not appeared in public together since her birthday in March.
