So many stars are taking the virtual world by storm. Let me see, so far we’ve got Blackpink, Justin Bieber, John Mayer, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Keith Urban and other musicians putting on a show for their fans to enjoy in the virtual space. But this year, Mariah Carey will be bringing fans a Christmas performance straight to their homes. Can someone say Christmas wonderland in virtual lingo?
Mariah Carey – To Bring the Holiday Cheer To The Online Game Platform Roblox
On Friday, the “All I Want For Christmas” singer excitedly revealed that she’s going to be spreading some holiday cheer on the online game platform Roblox through Livetopia with a virtual experience called Mariah Carey’s Winter Wonderland, featuring several performances from the one and only Mariah Carey.
“Christmas is my absolute favorite time of the year! This year, I wanted to do something different to ring in the holiday season,” Carey, 52, said in a press release. “My kids and I live for Roblox, and we couldn’t be more excited to be creating this festive metaverse experience for everyone!”
And just like that, Mariah Carey made fans a whole lot happier. The Roblox experience is built to connect millions of people all over the world through high-end immersive 3D experiences.
A holiday-themed treasure hunt created with Carey’s 11-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe will be available this entire festive month. The hunt will feature special virtual item drops. Livetopia homes will also be available alongside the virtual performances.
Carey will, of course, perform her Christmas hits, before rounding out with the holiday favorite “All I Want For Christmas Is You”.
The virtual performances will take place on four consecutive nights, starting on Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. ET.
This is not the only Christmas engagement that Mariah Carey has got planned for fans this year. Already, she’s performed her Christmas hits at Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade and she is set to perform two Christmas-themed shows on Dec. 11 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada, and Dec. 13 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
