Mark Wahlberg – Reveals Reason For Quitting California

Bye bye Beverly Hills. And hello, Nevada! Mark Wahlberg recognizes that living near Hollywood’s entertainment capital benefited his career. But the actor decided to value his family over his acting profession, reported Page Six.

And during his recent appearance on The Talk, Mark explained why he left his luxurious $90 million California mansion. Because the actor wanted an improved life for his family, he felt that the move seemed necessary. However, Wahlberg also admitted the challenges in balancing his professional and personal lives.

“I want to be able to work from home,” shared the 51-year-old actor. And he recalled making the move to California years ago to become an actor. But since then, he starred in only a few films. As a result, Mark chose to “give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams.” And the actor mentioned some possible paths for his children. For instance, his sons seem interested in basketball and golf. And his daughter could turn into an equestrian.

Mark Wahlberg – Stuns With Sale Price Of Beverly Hills Mansion

mAs for the financial aspects of the move, Wahlberg definitely benefited. In 2009, the actor bought his estate for about $8 million. But the 30,500-square-foot estate featuring 12 bedrooms and 20 bathrooms got listed at $87.5 million. And for that price, the new residents will enjoy a home theater, a wine cellar, a five-hole golf course, a tennis court, a skate park and a separate guest house.

However, Mark found what he feels will become the ideal new home for his family. Married for 13 years, the actor and his wife Rhea Durham share Ella, 18; Michael, 16; Brendan, 13; and Grace, 12. And Wahlberg feels excited about their new home near Las Vegas, which he purchased for $15.6M in July.

We came here to just kind of give ourselves a new look, a fresh start for the kids,” explained the actor. “And there’s a lot of opportunity here.” As a result, the father of four feels “really excited about the future.” And he even made a plan to reinvent his own version of Hollywood.

Mark shared his decision to create a “state-of-the-art studio” in his new home. And in addition to his “Hollywood 2.0,” the actor shared other plans for Nevada. He dreams of creating a factory and shoe factor for Municipal, which is the sports apparel company that the actor co-founded in 2019.
