Marvel Spends Big Bucks To Bring Robert Downey Jr Back

Marvel Spends Big Bucks To Bring Robert Downey Jr BackWho’s gonna love me as much as Marvel loves Robert Downey Jr? He may be dead as Iron Man – Robert doesn’t want us to bet against his iconic Avenger’s character, Iron Man, returning and Kevin Feige is not entirely sure he won’t either – so as we play the “would he won’t he” games, Robert has been called to put on a new uniform. Will his signature flare save Marvel from its recent box office drought?

Marvel – Splashes Big Money On Bringing Back Robert Downey Jr

Marvel is looking forward to bringing back two of its biggest winners: Robert Downey Jr and the Russo brothers, who directed “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame.”

Needless to say, both of those movies were box office hits, so maybe Marvel wants to go back to a formula that they’re already sure works.

Per sources, Marvel is willing to part with $80 million if it gets them Anthony and Joe Russo to direct “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars.” The same source revealed that they’ll be paying “significantly more” to bring back Robert to take on the role of Marvel’s biggest villain Dr. Doom.

Robert made his first Marvel appearance in 2008’s ‘Iron Man,’ alongside Gwyneth Paltrow. He further appeared in two more sequels, and across all the ‘Avengers’ movies so far.

The big payday is not all he takes away from the deal, because it further comes with mouthwatering perks like private jet travel, dedicated security and a whole “trailer encampment.”

This year, Robert won an Oscar for best supporting actor for Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer,’ so his box office prowess is far from being over.

On top the perks, Robert is also the MCU’s most paid actor, reportedly taking home the impressive sum of over $500 million over the course of three ‘Iron Man’ movies, four ‘Avengers’ movies and cameos in “The Incredible Hulk,” “Captain America: Civil War” and “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”

Production is set to move from Atlanta to London when it kicks off in the second quarter of 2025.

Kang the Conqueror was formerly meant to become the primary villain in the upcoming ‘Avengers’ movie. Sadly, the controversies that enveloped Jonathan Majors, the actor who portrayed the villain Kang in the latest Ant-Man movie, forced Marvel to pivot.

And in wanders Dr. Doom, who, even though we haven’t been properly introduced to the character, seems ready to eclipse whatever evil scheme Kang had in mind.

Be sure to catch up on everything happening with Robert Downey Jr right now. Come back here often for all Marvel spoilers, news, and updates.
