Matt Damon Harbors Hopes For A Sixth “Great” Jason Bourne Movie

From the moment fans set eyes on “The Bourne Identity,” the first of the franchise in a line of great action thrillers, they knew there was something so remarkably awesome about the haunted American assassin labelled traitor.

His fight for survival in a world that wants to erase him, due to a scheme that wants to cover up his past, was more than just a thrilling ride, and seeing Bourne survive the desperate odds is something I’m sure fellow fans want to see happen again. Guess what?

Last year, it was announced that a sixth Jason Bourne movie has been planned, and already, “All Quiet on the Western Front” director, Edward Berger, has been attached to it.

While we strongly believed that it wasn’t just any old rumor at the time, we still had doubts whether our very own Matt Damon might be returning. Hold your breath, we think he is!

Damon’s recent appearance on “The Late Show” made us suspect as much, and when he showered praise on director Edward Berger when the new Jason Bourne topic was brought up, we were immediately convinced that they’ve gotten up to something interesting.

“There is a great director named Edward Berger,” Damon said. “[‘All Quiet on the Western Front’] is a fantastic film, and he’s wonderful and he said he had an idea [for Bourne]. I would love to work with him, so he’s working on it. Look, I’m as anxious as you are to see if this thing [happens] — I hope it’s great and that we can do it.”

“At a certain point somebody is going to need to take it over,” Damon added about the franchise. “I’m not getting any younger.”

Let’s just say the keyword here is “at a certain point somebody is going to need to take it over,” but not today, right?
