ccording to the latest reports, Matt Gaetz withdrew himself from being Trump’s Attorney General pick, says his confirmation was becoming a “distraction to the critical work” of the Trump transition.

Gaetz wrote on his x Account, “I had excellent meetings with Senators yesterday. I appreciate their thoughtful feedback – and the incredible support of so many. While the momentum was strong, it is clear that my confirmation was unfairly becoming a distraction to the critical work of the Trump/Vance Transition.” 

“There is no time to waste on a needlessly protracted Washington scuffle, thus I’ll be withdrawing my name from consideration to serve as Attorney General. Trump’s DOJ must be in place and ready on Day 1.”

Gaetz continued, “I remain fully committed to see that Donald J. Trump is the most successful President in history. I will forever be honored that President Trump nominated me to lead the Department of Justice and I’m certain he will Save America.”

What’s Next For Matt Gaetz?

Of course, the internet certainly did have a lot to say about the matter. Some critics on both sides of the aisle even commented with, “Super disappointed Matt Gaetz was forced by the elites to drop out. They probably threatened his life because most of them have done crimes so graphic I can’t even describe them here.”

“They can’t have someone like Matt investigating them.”

Another critic wrote, “We didn’t win in a landslide to allow a handful of elitist Senators get in our way. Full steam ahead.”

“You need to go mask off, we all know how corrupt this government is. No one trusts it, sure Trump is the man, but the rest of the entire thing is fully compromised.”

So far Matt Gaetz has not made any additional comments about the matter just yet.
