Meghan McCain was once a co-host in the show “The View” she quit the show for a reason similar to what I said above.
Meghan McCain — On Why She Left “The View”
Here’s what happened, Meghan, 37, gave birth to her baby girl Liberty in September 2020, three months after her maternity leave she resumed work as co-host on “The View.” During an argument with fellow co-host Joy Behar, 79, who Meghan always banter words with in the show, Meghan interrupted Joy but Joy yelled at Meghan saying that she wasn’t done talking, and with that, Meghan jokingly told Joy, “You missed me so much, Joy. You missed me so much when I was on maternity leave. You missed fighting with me.”
Well guys, the response Meghan got from Joy is enough to break any emotional person, in fact, not just any emotional person, anybody with a heart will definitely feel bad if it were he/she. Joy boldly told Meghan that she didn’t miss Meghan, and even went further to reveal that no one in the show missed her.
The response shattered Meghan to the extent that she broke down on air, she cried so much that when she got to her office she called her brother to explain what happened. The most painful part for Megan was that during her stay off the show, she missed the show and her co-hosts, she saw them as family, and getting to hear that none of them missed her, not even one person and that she got to find out about it on air was too much for her to bear. According to Megan, her brother advised her to consider leaving the show, and she did.
Meghan McCain — On Her Struggles On The Show
Meghan once discussed during an interview with Variety in October 2021, that there was a time she struggled to feel like she was a part of her fellow co-hosts in the show, around when she was recruited newly, Meghan admitted that she struggled to feel a sense of belonging among the others but she eventually settled with telling the truth, she said “When you come in as a host, you are a rotating peg on a carousel, and you’ll be in and out. It doesn’t breed an environment where you’re close. It feels siloed. There was no collaboration. At a certain point, I made the decision it was more important to be honest than to be liked.”
Meghan explained that she had a hard time at the show during her return from maternity leave, she explained that she had a hard birth but the words Joy said to her hurt more because she considered the show as her family, the co-hosts even attended her father’s burial.
