Metal Singer Calls Ozzy Osbourne’s Farewell Tour a ‘Scam’!

Metal Singer Calls Ozzy Osbourne's Farewell Tour a 'Scam'!Elton John’s farewell tour was the stuff of legends, spanning countries, years and drawing in a record audience at certain venues. The thing is, once he performed the final show on his farewell tour, Elton John really did say his farewell to touring.

However, this metal singer believes Ozzy Osbourne’s so-called farewell tour is just another form of scamming fans to fill out venues.

Metal Singer Urges Ozzy Osbourne To Make Farewell Tour “Final”

Some musicians have surprised us in recent years by announcing their retirement and a few moments later go on to release new music and tour said new music.

Glenn Danzig doesn’t want Osbourne to be one of them. He wants the rocker to make good on his word when he says he’s embarking on a final tour with Black Sabbath.

For those who aren’t acquainted by Danzig’s work, he is more commonly known for founding a variety of rock bands. This includes Misfits, Samhain, and Danzig.

During his chat with 96.7 KCAL-FM host Radioactive MikeZ, Danzig reflected on final tours and why he isn’t especially a believer in Ozzy Osbourne’s announced final tour.

“I mean, I remember when Danzig went out with Ozzy, that was supposed to be his final tour,” Danzig said with a laugh, before adding, “And then he’s done a bunch of final tours since then.”

This hypocrisy, Danzig noted, doesn’t just start and end with Ozzy Osbourne and his band Black Sabbath, many other acts are guilty of it as well. Amongst the defaulters are Motley Crue and KISS, both of whom continued to tour long after the dust of their promised farewell tour had settled.

KISS originally announced a farewell tour in 2001, and then turned around and did a run of shows that ran all the way to 2023. They chose to call it their second farewell tour.

Danzig mused, “If it’s gonna be final, it should be final. If you say, it’s gonna be final… You’ll see all these bands [announcing what they say will be] the last tour, and then they’re back again two years later. And it’s kind of a scam, I think. So, when it’s final, and if I say it’s final, it’ll be final.”

Speaking on how he himself approaches the prospect of touring in recent years, he shared, “Right now, pretty much what I’ve said is kind of what I’m doing. I don’t really tour anymore. I’ll do a string of shows, which I don’t consider a tour. If it’s, like, you know, six to 10 shows, I don’t really consider that a tour.”
