Following the death of Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley’s only child, Lisa Marie Presley who died in January 2023, after suffering a cardiac arrest, her ex-husband Michael Lockwood whom she shares twins Harper Vivienne Ann and Finley Aaron Love petitioned to be made the twins’ legal guardian ad litem in March.

According to Lockwood, “The minor is a beneficiary of a trust at issue before the probate court in the above-referenced case. The minor requires appointment of a guardian ad litem to represent her interests in the proceeding.”
He also added, “There is no conflict regarding appointment because the proposed guardian is not a beneficiary of the trust instrument at issue.”
Michael Lockwood — Judge Accepts Michael Lockwood’s Petition
On Thursday, April 13, a hearing to decide whether or not to appoint Lockwood, 61, as his 14-year-old twins’ guardian in a trust battle regarding Lisa Marie’s will was held.
There, Lockwood’s lawyer Scott Rahn told Judge Lynn Healey Scaduto that Lockwood is “ready, able and willing to protect their interests.”

Judge Scaduto then enquired if Lockwood had any preexisting relationship with the parties involved in the trust battle, and his lawyer Rahn replied, “Lockwood has a good, collegial, familial relationship with all of the parties involved. He is not only legally bound but also morally bound to protect [the twins’] interests.
Priscilla Presley’s lawyer and Riley Keough’s lawyer (Riley is Lisa Marie’s first daughter with ex-husband **** Keough) had no objection to Rhan’s claims which led to Judge Scaduto to say he would issue a written ruling. The ruling which arrived on Thursday afternoon granted the petitions pursuant.
Meanwhile, the twins Harper and Finley already consented to Lockwood being their guardian ad litem as they signed the necessary forms for it at the time.

After the heartbreaking death of singer Lisa Marie at age 54, her ex-husband Michael Lockwood took to his social media to address the painful passing of the mother of his daughters.
“We are all reeling from the sudden passing of Lisa Marie Presley, the mother of my two beautiful twin daughters Harper and Finley. Nothing prepares us for such an unexpected tragedy. It is incomprehensible.”
Lockwood went on to say, “The most important thing to me at this time is to take care of my daughters, making sure they always feel safe and loved.”
“Both of them have incredible spirit and they will carry our family’s legacy on for the rest of their lives. Since they were born, Harper and Finley have brought me profound joy and I remain devoted to them. We ask for privacy at this incredibly difficult time.”
