Incident Details

Deputies with the Malibu/Lost Hill Sheriff’s Station responded to a domestic incident call at the residence shortly after midnight on August 17.

The 66-year-old actor was arrested at around 12:15 am for misdemeanor domestic battery under California Penal Code 243(e)(1): ‘Beating, wounding, torturing, or otherwise injuring a cohabitant or engaged to a cohabitant; placing a cohabitant in reasonable apprehension of imminent serious bodily injury.’

He was booked at the station at 1:40 am and released after posting a $20,000 bond.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred Friday afternoon on Broad Beach Road in Malibu, when deputies were dispatched regarding a disturbance between a male and female adult.

The reporting party [the woman] stated that her husband physically pushed her out of the front door and locked her out of the residence. The case is ongoing pending the filing of further proceedings at the Van Nuys Superior Court House.

Reactions And Statements

Madsen’s representative told Variety, “It was a disagreement between Michael and his wife, which we hope resolves positively for them both.” Madsen’s representative has told several outlets, including TMZ and People, that Madsen has returned home.

Even Madsen’s manager, Ron Smith, had a statement addressed to USA TODAY, expressing hope that the matter would be resolved amicably.

Background And Career Highlights

With credits including all three Kill Bill films, The Hateful Eight and Reservoir Dogs, Michael Madsen is primarily known for his work with the director Quentin Tarantino.

He’s the famed Mr. Blonde, the evil criminal who delights in torturing hostages while dancing around him to the tune of Stealer Wheel’s ‘Stuck in the Middle With You’. That scene alone is one of the most iconic moments in Tarantino’s entire filmography.

In addition to his portrayal of the cowboy Joe Gage in The Hateful Eight, Madsen has had pivotal roles in Tarantino’s Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 (as Budd, the washed-up assassin) and, most recently, as an actor in Tarantino’s oeuvre, he made a two-minute cameo in his very own Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood.

Throughout his career, Madsen has appeared in various genre films, including “Thelma and Louise,” “Donnie Brasco,” “Sin City,” “Mulholland Falls,”Wyatt Earp,” and “Iguana.” In recent years, he has been active in numerous direct-to-video productions.

Personal Life

Madsen is currently married to DeAnna, with whom he has three sons – Calvin, Luke, and the late Hudson, who died by suicide in 2022. His marriage to DeAnna, since 1996, is his third marriage so far.

He was previously married to Georganne LaPiere and Jeannine Bisignano. In addition to Hudson, DeAnna, and their sons, Madsen has two children – Christian and Max – with his ex-wife Bisignano.

In December 2023, Madsen published an Instagram post for the holiday season with the caption, “DeAnna Madsen brings Christmas back to Malibu once again.”

Past Legal Troubles

This isn’t the first time the Madsen is getting entangled with the law. He was arrested in February 2022 on a misdemeanor trespassing charge, exactly one month after the death of Hudson.

Madsen’s legal situation remains uncertain as the investigation continues, but his representatives and family hope for a peaceful resolution.
