Michael Strahan Confesses Fears For Isabella’s Life

Good Morning America (GMA) anchor Michael Strahan worried about 2022, and it made him sad to know that his baby girls, Sophia and Isabella,18, growing up. But his worst fears for Isabella Strahan came a year later when the news arrived that she had been diagnosed with medulloblastoma brain cancer.

Michael Strahan Hid His Fears

More than once, GMA fans saw Michael talk about Isabella. The former New York Giants player hid his emotions well, but he couldn’t hide all of it. GMA could see the little lines of worry around his eyes. In fact, it became obvious that Kelly Ripa’s former colleague took the diagnosis hard. 

Michael Strahan must have felt incredible relief when Isabella Strahan made it through her chemo and other treatments. Her hair started growing back, and she looked serene and happy. But, it was a long and hard road for her. Bringing cancer awareness, she shared the highs and the lows of her journey on YouTube. 

Isabella Strahan & Her Dad Open Up More

This month, Isabella and her dad chatted with Town and Country Magazine. In their long discussion, the GMA anchor confessed his deepest fears for his daughter. In fact, the thought that she might pass away was very strong in his mind.

Michael Strahan said:

…as a parent you hear that your kid has cancer and you go, ‘Whoa.’ You have to control your thoughts, because your brain thinks of the worst case scenario, and then you work your way back from there. I don’t think I’ll go through the rest of my life without some worry in some shape or form about this.

Isabella also spoke up about her cancer fight. She talked about suffering from “depression,” but she deliberately tried staying positive. She recalled how when she went into “surgery,” she was “laughing.” The GMA anchor explained that he believed her positive attitude made the terrible year easier to deal with.
