The world can say all they want about the feud between the “Hannah Montana” alums Miley Cyrus and her dad Billy Ray Cyrus but it would change the fact that Billy is in love with another woman who’s not Miley’s mom.
In case you missed it, the “Flowers” singer won her first Grammy on February 4. And, she didn’t just win one award, she took two awards home — Best Pop Vocal Performance and Record of the Year—for her 2023 mega-hit “Flowers.”
But then, during her acceptance speech, Miley didn’t give her once upon a time bestie a nod and of course, the whole world took notice of it.
Few days later, Miley’s mom Tish Cyrus spilled during her appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast how she finally made the decision to divorce him.
Tish also shared how she “pushed” for Billy and Miley to star as father and daughter in their iconic Disney Channel “Hannah Montana.” Her revelation came after Billy’s 2011 claim that the show “destroyed my family. I’ll tell you right now — the damn show destroyed my family,” was brought up.
Anyway, the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer recently took to Instagram to share a message about love. The country musician posted a photo of him and his new wife Firerose cozying in a field and captioned it, “Love is the answer.” The post came on February 6, two days after the Grammy snub from Miley and a day after Miley’s second snub on Instagram.
Miley Cyrus — On Miley’s Acceptance Speech And Snub
In her acceptance speech, the “Used To Be Young” singer thanked her mom, and sister Brandi Cyrus, she also thanked her boyfriend Maxx Morando but intentionally snubbed her dad.
She began her speech with, “This award is amazing. But I really hope that it doesn’t change anything because my life was beautiful yesterday. Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy, but everyone in this world is spectacular…”
She continued, “So please don’t think that this is important, even though it’s very important, right guys? ‘[I want to thank] everyone that’s standing on this stage right now Tom, Tyler, Michael and Greg… Our teams, my team, Crush, Columbia, my mommy, my sister, my love, my main gays because look how good I look…” Before she dropped the mic, the “Wrecking Ball” singer added, “I don’t think I forgot anyone—but I might’ve forgotten underwear. Bye!”
As if the omission didn’t sink in, the morning after the Grammys which was February 5, Miley took to her Instagram to once again appreciate everyone but Billy. In a lengthy post, she wrote, “To my mommy @tishcyruspurcell I love you more than anything in the entire universe,” the Disney Channel alum wrote, “my family, @brandicyrus thank you for being there like always, my godmother @dollyparton – I felt your fairy dust everywhere.”
Her post continued, “My lover, my momos, my friends, my collaborators, @kidharpoon @tylersamj @pollackmusic @aldaelong, every single person who made this song and album possible!” she wrote. “My team (a little extra love to the glam team), Bill Sobel who is my hero and doesn’t have Instagram so will probably never see this, Crush Music, Olivia + FANMADE, Ron Perry and all of Columbia records.” She then made another post saying, “PS I was only kidding…. I had on matching custom @gucci panties.”
Tish and Billy share children, Trace, 34, Christopher, 31, Miley, 31, Braison, 29, and Noah, 24.
