Miley Cyrus Has Wardrobe Malfunction, Loses Top

During a New Year’s show with Pete Davidson, Miley Cyrus loses her top in an apparent wardrobe malfunction.

On Friday night the 29-year-old singer was performing in a New Year’s Eve bash she and Pete Davidson cohosted in Miami when her top fell off. As midnight inched closer Cyrus was performing one of her classics, Party in the USA, wearing nothing but an itty-bitty silver skirt and top.

The top was held together by some flimsy straps and as usual, Miley really put herself into the performance which caused the thin straps to break and her silver blouse to drop, nearly exposing her breasts. Fortunately, Miley caught the blouse before it fell away completely and quickly turned her bare back to the fans and calmly walked backstage to sort the problem. Her band and backup singers carried the tune and not long after she returned with a red blazer in place of the silver top.

With a quick reference to her song the singer joked, “Everybody’s DEFINATELY looking at me now.” The pop superstar continued with her performance almost as if nothing had happened. As they say, “The show must go on.” She performed such hits as Midnight Sky (2020) and We Can’t Stop from 2013.

Later in the evening, the musical artist said of the onstage wardrobe malfunction, “Tonight’s show was all about being flexible. Rolling with the punches and making the best out of even the worst circumstances,” adding that, “that resilience shouldn’t end here. Let’s bring that into the new year with us. We’ve all learned how to expect the unexpected.”

The red blazer was but the first of several wardrobe changes the pop singer went through throughout the evening with one being a beaded mini skirt, with a blue bra and rainbow-colored jacket. In another performance, the pop star wore a red ensemble and then a black dress with gold chain detailing.

 Miley Cyrus – A Visit From Steve Buscemi

Miley was also joined by her sister Noah in a cover performance of a Dolly Parton hit Jolene wearing a silver fringed jumpsuit. Probably the most interesting moment of the night was a cameo by actor Steve Buscemi who appeared during a Cyrus/Davidson musical bit called Unrealistic Resolutions that saw the two stars on a yacht discussing all of Davidson’s failed resolutions expected for 2022. Then Davidson gets a FaceTime call from none other than Steve Buscemi.

Despite the wardrobe malfunction the rest of the show was spectacular and made a pleasant end to a very rough year for us all and Pete Davidson ended the evening by telling 2021 to “Go to hell!”
