Barely a year into their divorce, the exes tied the knot with different partners. Per sources, Miley’s feuding with her father and younger sister Noah Cyrus is feuding with their mother, so the family dynamic is far from being jolly at the moment.
However, after Billy Ray Cyrus praised Miley on social media, the Grammy winner decided to throw her dad a bone and admit that she did learn some good things from him.
Miley Cyrus – Says She Inherited “Narcissism” And “Great Hair” From Her Father
When trying to recall which family members moved with her from Tennessee to California for ‘Hannah Montana,’ Miley jokingly revealed one not so great thing she inherited from her father.
“I have a terrible memory because I also inherited the narcissism from my father that I don’t know anything about my siblings except for the part that I was doing,” she replied as David Letterman laughed. “It’s true. It’s OK.”
While she talked about the bad, she also admitted that there were good parts of having Billy Ray Cyrus as a father on David Letterman’s ‘My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.’
“My father, I’m grateful for first his genes,” she shared. “My dad has great hair, and I got that. But he also—he has a relationship and a foot on the ground to the real and to nature, and he always did even when he was super famous. I’m grateful for being able to watch him ahead of me. He’s almost given me this map. And there is a map of what to do and what not to do, and he’s guided me on both.”
When it comes to who raised her and inspired her life in profound ways, Miley insists it’s her mother, despite appearing on the hit Disney show ‘Hannah Montana’ with her dad for many years.
Further along in the interview, Miley seemed to shut down rumors that she’s no longer on speaking terms with her father by saying that she still has “a lot of love for” him.
