Parting is such sweet sorrow and this couldn’t be any truer for Millie Bobby Brown saying goodbye to the show that launched her acting career.
She was so young and tiny auditioning for the show back then, but now she says goodbye as a mature and married woman. Whew, a lot has really happened in Brown’s life since her early Eleven days.
Millie Bobby Brown Says She’s “Not Fine” Leaving The World of ‘Stranger Things’ Behind
Getting to the finale season of a favorite show comes with its own brand of emotions, and Millie Bobby Brown is “nowhere near ready to leave.”
Fans are preparing to say their final goodbyes to ‘Stranger Things,’ while Brown is trying her hardest to make her peace with it.
In her recent chat on the Today show, she revealed her “emotional” reaction to leaving behind the world she’d inhabited for a decade.
Going into the finale season shoot, she thought she’d prepared herself for it, but she soon figured she was not yet ready to say her goodbyes.
“I kind of was like, ‘Oh, I’ll be fine, I’ll be fine, I’ll be fine.’ And then I think it was a defense mechanism, I think it was my coping,” she told Savannah Guthrie. “And then I realized I was not fine. I cried a lot.”
Walking onto the set for what she knew would be her last time felt like being emotionally punched. “[I] was like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is my last day. This is the last coffee I’m going to drink, the last mark I’m going to stand on,'” she said. “It all kind of came head-on, really fast.”
On the final day on ‘Stranger Things’ set in December, the 21-year-old actress took to Instagram to reveal that she felt all the feels to her millions of followers.
In the clip of the speech she gave on that very emotional day, she compared saying goodbye to ‘Stranger Things’s’ cast and crew to graduating.
“Isn’t graduation supposed to bring relief? Like you’re glad to leave behind the teachers and classmates. Not me. I am nowhere near ready to leave you guys,” she said in the video. “I love each and every one of you and I will forever carry the memories and bonds we created together as a family. I love you, thank you.”
In February at the LA premiere of her new Netflix movie ‘The Electric State,’ she promised fans that the long wait is “worth it.”
Millie Bobby Brown has said her own emotional goodbye, it’ll soon be our turn when the show premieres this 2025.
In the meantime, you can binge the first four seasons on Netflix.
