Sir Elton John has been a vocal supporter of HIV/Aids charities for many years. Worth £470million, the musician has been known to back up the charities he supports with money in order to create a bigger impact on the lives of the people benefitting from such charities.

Following Sir Elton John on the list is the formula one champion Sir Lewis Hamilton who donated £11 million of his £350 million to charity. This puts him at donating 3.2% of his net worth.

Apart from donating to different charities, Sir Lewis also put money towards his own foundation Mission 44. Launched in 2021, the foundation aims to boost diversity in motorsport and education.

Coming up on the list as Britain’s most generous female celebrity is JK Rowling, who donated £18 million of her £945million in the past 12 months to charities that support women causes.

She has been making headlines for her campaign against trans in female spaces and sports, and has been a vocal supporter of women for many years.

In an interview, she recalled being in an abusive marriage when she was writing her first drafts for what will become the worldwide bestselling book ‘Harry Potter.’

As a result of this, she has spent many millions throughout the years supporting women who are survivors of domestic abuse.
