Wynonna Judd – Is Not Happy With Her Mother’s Decision To Leave Her Estate To Husband
RadarOnline was the first to report the shocking message that the country music star had seen it fit to leave out her daughters from her will, even though one of them performed alongside her for decades.
Naomi left her $25 million estate and fortune to her husband Larry Strickland, who she married in May 1989.
The Blast reported about the existence of the document, which states: “I nominate and appoint my spouse, Larry Strickland, as Executor of my estate.”
The document continues, “In the event my spouse ceases or fails to serve, then I nominate and appoint my brother-in-law, Reginald Strickland, and Daniel Kris Wiatr as Co-Executors. I direct that no bond shall be required of my Executor.”
Wynonna was reportedly “upset” with the decision, arguing that she was a central part of The Judds – a country music duo consisting of Wynonna and her late mother Naomi. She also “believes she was a major force behind her mother’s success.”
Page Six wrote that the document did not state if either of Naomi’s daughters would receive any of her assets.
The released court document revealed that Naomi wanted her husband to have “full authority and discretion” over any property that is an asset to her estate “without the approval of any court” or permission from any beneficiary of the estate.
Page Six went on to name the people who were witnesses when the document was created on November 20, 2017. The witnesses – Melissa Sitzler, a senior account manager at a Tennessee law firm called Wiatr & Associates, and another individual named Abigail Muelder – attested that Naomi was of “sound mind, memory and understanding, and not under any restraint or in any respect incompetent to make a Last Will and Testament.”
Ashley Judd – On Her Mother’s Battle With Severe “Mental Illness”
A day before The Judds were set to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, Naomi was found dead at her apartment. Later on, her daughters announced that she had ended her life with a “firearm”.
During a recent appearance on Healing with David Kessler, Ashley shared: “I look back on my childhood and I realize I grew up with a mom who had an undiagnosed and untreated mental illness.”
She continued, explaining to David Kessler that “there are different behavioral expressions, interactions, flights of fancy, choices that she made that I understand were an expression of the disease and I understand that and know that she was in pain and can today understand that she was absolutely doing the best she could, and if she could have done it differently, she would have.”
