According to a source close to the family, Natalie Portman‘s husband Benjamin Millepied has admitted his wrongdoings and is committed to keeping his family together.
You’d think that he would have thought about his family before making the “enormous mistake,” but oh well. At least, per the report, it was a short-lived affair – like it actually makes a difference.
Benjamin Millepied And Natalie Portman Are Working On Keeping Their Family Together Despite Huge Marital Rift
Cheating scandals have been known to tear a family apart, but in Natalie Portman and her husband’s case, they’re privately working through their marital issues.
This tension first came to the light when a French article by the outlet Voici claimed that Millepied was having an affair outside of his marriage. A source then confirmed to PEOPLE that the affair “was short-lived and it is over.”
Despite this “enormous mistake,” Portman, 41, is reportedly devoted to her family and wants to work through things with husband Millepied, 45, instead of pushing the divorce button. The pair first met in 2009 on the set of the movie “Black Swan,” where she learned ballet dance sequences from now-husband Millepied, who was the choreographer.
The couple tied the knot in 2012, and celebrated their 10-year anniversary in August 2022, with Portman sharing a sweet picture of them, alongside the caption, “Ten years today @benjaminmillepied, and it keeps getting better…”
“He knows he made an enormous mistake and he is doing all he can to get Natalie to forgive him and keep their family together,” the source said. “Natalie is incredibly private and has no intention of playing this out in the media. Her biggest priority is protecting her children and their privacy.”
Public Signs Of Tension Between Natalie Portman And Husband Benjamin Millepied
In September, Portman supported Millepied on the red carpet for the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of “Carmen,” which he directed. However, when the movie finally debuted in theaters this April, he attended the premiere alone.
The following May saw Portman walk two red carpets solo: for the Los Angeles premiere of her HBO docuseries “Angel City,” and at the Cannes Film Festival, where she rolled out her movie with Julianne Moore, “May December.”
