Netflix Scoops Up Kim Kardashian’s New Show, But What’s It About?

Kim Kardashian is the billionaire that keeps on growing. After what feels like a lifetime of being a reality TV star and a fashion and beauty mogul, Kim has decided to take the cinematic world by storm.

Doesn’t it seem just like yesterday when she was taking acting classes and lessons to star in American Horror Story? Now she’s partnering with streaming giant Netflix for a new show called “Calabasas.” Sounds exciting?

Kim Kardashian Teams Up With “American Horror Story” Co-star Emma Roberts For Exciting New Project

Per a report released by Deadline, Kim Kardashian has partnered up with her “American Horror Story” co-star Emma Roberts to executive produce a film for Netflix. Netflix won the rights to the project after a competitive bidding war.

The project will be a screen adaptation of Via Bleidner‘s book “If You Lived Here You’d Be Famous By Now,” and will follow a 16-year-old girl who was thrown into the fast-paced superficial world of Calabasas High after her family moved to Los Angeles… The show will reportedly follow her journey as she adjusts to the new situation.

Published in 2021, the book’s synopsis reads, “If You Lived Here You’d Be Famous by Now is an insider’s collection of funny and warmhearted stories about coming of age in the Los Angeles suburb famed for birthing the Kardashian-Jenners and the Bling Ring.”

Joining Kim and Emma as executive producers are “Pretty Little Liars” creator I. Marlene King and film producer Alexandra Milchan.

While details are currently under wraps, it’s been compared to other teen high school dramas like “Beverly Hills 90210” and “The O.C.”

Forget Montecito, Calabasas is the place where Hollywood A-listers like to be. In addition to Kim Kardashian, other celebs owning properties in the elite neighborhood are Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez, Drake, and Will Smith.
