New Spice Girls Song Coming Soon!

Spice Girls Spice Girls, the best-selling girl group of all time has just announced the release of a brand new single to celebrate the iconic group’s 25th anniversary. Though the group was short-lived, as they were formed in 1994, released their first single and album in 1996, and saw their first hiatus in 2000, their impact on pop culture and on music, in general, is undeniable.

Their debut single “Wannabe” made and broke records, and their songs, which are mostly geared toward female empowerment, topped the charts in 37 countries. Before Halliwell’s much-publicized departure from the band in order to pursue a solo career in 2000, it was the “Spicemania” era, destroying some of the records previously held by The Beatles.

For some reason, it’s been 25 years since the Spice Girls came to be and they are celebrating the anniversary the old-fashioned way — by releasing a limited edition vinyl and cassette.

Spice Girls Celebrate 25th Anniversary With Previously Unreleased Single

The new single will be a part of the girl group’s Wannabe25 EP and is from their glory days, which means that vocals from all five of its members would be featured from the track.

The song will be the first new track from the group, comprised of Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), and Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), in 14 years.

The single, Feed Your Love, is a demo of a secret ballad written by the Spice Girls and “Wannabe” co-writers Richard “Biff” Stannard and Matt Rowe. The track is a slow soulful tune and is believed to have never been released because it was considered unsuitable for their audience at the time. The song originally wasn’t meant to be heard, although a snippet of the song leaked online back in 2016.

The upcoming EP will be available to stream from July 9, with physical copies coming out on July 23rd.

“The Spice Girls belong to everyone and that’s why we want to mark 25 years of Wannabe by celebrating our incredible fans,” the group wrote across their social media channels. In addition to releasing new music, the band is also launching the #IAmASpiceGirl campaign. They’re asking fans to share their stories about the group which will then get a chance to be featured on the Spice Girls website and social pages.
