Nick Cannon On Launching His Newest Daytime Talk Show

Nick Cannon has been a host on many TV shows, like The Nick Cannon Show, America’s Got Talent, The Masked Singer, Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, and many others. The 40-year-old TV presenter and actor unveiled the teaser for his upcoming syndicated show, Nick Cannon, on Wednesday. He also released the series’ official website along with a promotional photo.

Cannon’s show was originally meant to launch last fall but was placed on hold due to a controversy that broke out over anti-Semitic comments he made over the summer. It was earlier confirmed this year by Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury that the show was back on track.

“It’s been a longtime dream of mine to host my own daytime talk show and that I’m able to do this in New York City, bringing daytime television back to the place that has fostered generations of talent, is very special to me,” Cannon said in January. “With this show, we’ll be uniting all aspects of entertainment in a unique way in the very place where a lot of what we know today as our culture started. I couldn’t ask for better partners than Debmar-Mercury and Fox and thank them for supporting me in this endeavor.”

Nick Cannon And The Controversy Following His anti-Semitic Remarks In His YouTube Series

The controversy started last June when Cannon interviewed former Public Enemy member Richard “Professor Griff” Griffin on his Cannon’s Class YouTube series. Griffin was dismissed from the group for his own anti-Semitic remarks, which he made in a 1989 interview with the Washington Post.

During their discussion, Cannon joined Griffin in promoting anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, and this led to him losing his job at ViacomCBS, the network behind his long-running improv series Wild ‘N Out, at the time. (He later regained his working relationship with the company).

Amid the backlash that came as a result of his anti-Semitic remarks, he has since apologized for his “hurtful and divisive words”, and the interview where he uttered those words has been taken down. In the spirit of repentance, he decided to partner with Jewish leaders and donated his first paycheck from The Masked Singer Season 4 to a Jewish human rights organization, Simon Wiesenthal Center.

The talk show promo comes in the midst of speculations that Cannon is expecting a child with model Alyssa Scott. Scott later seemed to confirm the news in a since-deleted Instagram post.

Cannon, who hasn’t yet commented on the reports, is expecting twin boys with DJ Abby De La Rosa. She shared the news in April alongside portraits from a maternity photoshoot with Cannon in the picture shirtless.

The comedian also welcomed his fourth child Powerful Queen with model Brittany Bell last December. The two also share 3-year-old son Golden.

The Wild N’ Out host also shares 9-year-old twins, son Moroccan and daughter Monroe, with ex-wife Mariah Carey.
