Nicolas Cage’s son Weston is behind bars again, and this time for assaulting his mother. Here’s the full details. Weston Cage Coppola, who was previously arrested in 2017 for DUI and hit-and-run, allegedly attacked his mother, leading to his arrest on Wednesday. This is coming mere weeks after his mom was seen in public, wearing several bruises on her face.

Per the US Sun, Weston was booked in LA. However, reports say his arrest was in connection to his attack on his mother Christina Fulton in April, which left her with a face filled with bruises.
“I can confirm that Weston Cage Coppola was arrested today for assault with a deadly weapon,” a spokesman for the LAPD said. “He was arrested by LAPD’s 77th Division.”
He was released by 10 am the next day after a member of his family paid the $150,000 bail. While it isn’t conclusive who paid the bill, several are suspecting it was his father, Nicolas Cage.
“The family knew this was going to happen but needless to say, it is a very big shock,” an insider told the US Sun.
Another source close to the family further shared that the arrest was connected to the April incident when he assaulted his mother with no provocation.
Fulton had previously shared a statement, explaining what led to the horrific incident and what it really was about. She insisted that “Weston and I had no argument prior to the incident.”
“On Sunday April 28, I was reached out to by several of Weston’s best friends for assistance because they were experiencing Weston in a mental-health crisis.”
When Fulton arrived she claimed she “acted swiftly to ensure Weston’s safety.”
“Upon my arrival, I was met by my son who clearly was in a state of a mental health breakdown, which in turn became a horrific experience,” she continued. “I have always supported helping my son with mental-health struggles. I am doing all I can to get him the continued support he needs.”
Per PEOPLE, police claimed there had been an exchange of words, which made Weston attack the actress and bruise her.

I have had the opportunity to meet and chat with Chrissy on many occasions when Weston’s parents were still together as I was around semi common then.
It is just my opinion as I have , obviously , not been in contact with her in some time that after seeing the terrible way she treated him once the doors were closed was down right repulsive.
I have seen more verbally abusive parents in my time , on some 2nd rate television crime show , but the complete cruelty was just dripping in the interactions I saw.
My point here , I guess , is that obviously there is no reason for a man to be hitting a woman.
And violence is certainly never the answer.
But in this case I am not surprised at all it happened.
You can not kick a dog for that many years and then act surprised when it finally bites you back.
And when the dog has mental illness of the type the poor fellow is burdened with …. this could yet still go even worse.
Those two need to be far away from each other for both of their well being.
She is a trigger for him and he is a source of amusement for her. That can not continue to last.
