Nicole Kidman Slips Up, Talks About Tom Cruise

Nicole Kidman has mastered speaking publicly without mentioning her ex-husband Tom Cruise for decades. 

Either Nicole was feeling spunky or didn’t realize it was on the record, but the actress shocked everyone involved when she actually answered a question about her marriage to Tom Cruise during an interview with the Los Angeles Times.  Here’s what the Eyes Wide Shut actress had to say.

Nicole Kidman was married to Tom Cruise in 1989, the famous couple filed for divorce in 2001. 

Kidman and Cruise also adopted two children while they were married, Isabella and Connor.  Before Nicole’s divorce, the actress was EVERYWHERE and always giving interviews.

An Eyes Wide Shut Confession From Kidman

Almost every time Kidman spoke publicly, she mentioned her husband Tom Cruise, or life with their kids.  After they split, Nicole did a complete 180 and never mentioned Tom or their kids.  She was so mute on the topic, there were rumors of a gag order.

While Nicole and Tom were happily married, they starred together in the hit movie Eyes Wide Shut.  During a recent interview, Nicole was asked about filming the movie with her then husband Cruise. 

Interestingly, Nicole was very chatty on the topic and even confessed that their character’s chemistry in the movie was similar to their own.  Apparently, that was an intentional move on director Stanley Kubrik’s part.

Nicole Kidman Talks Tom Cruise Marriage

Kidman told Los Angeles Times, “When Tom and I first started with Stanley, it was at his home, and we didn’t even go over to the sets at Pinewood [Studios].  Six, eight weeks passed, and we’re wondering, ‘Are we ever going to start?’ And we just wouldn’t start. We were getting comfortable with each other, comfortable enough to throw out ideas. For that scene, we improvised the beginning of it through the rehearsals.”
