The “SKIMS” founder Kim Kardashian and the “Graduation” rapper Kanye West’s oldest child North West have tasted what it means to be a music star and now, she wants more.
After joining her dad Kanye and his partner Ty Dolla $ign on stage a few times to perform in one of the singles of their “Vultures” album and some of their listening parties, the 10-year-old seems to have decided that music is her calling and so she decided to embrace it.
Maybe it was the fact that following her performance she became one of the youngest artists to top the Billboard 100’s chart, or maybe because she has the full support of her parents. Either way, North wants more and she has already begun working for it.
In a recent appearance at her dad’s “Vultures 2” listening party in Phoenix, Arizona, on Sunday, North made an announcement that has left fans full of questions.
The preteen stood in a spotlight with her dad who rested his hand on her shoulder and told the audience present, “Hi, it’s Northie, and I’ve been working on an album. And it’s called “Elementary School Drop Out.”
North West — How Fans Reacted To North’s Announcement
Of course, that’s good news and the audience reacted with cheers. Immediately after her announcement, her dad led her out of the stage.
The title of North’s debut album sounds like a nod to her dad’s debut album “The College Dropout” which upon its release in 2004 amassed a total of 441,000 sales in its first week.
Following her announcement, fans couldn’t help but think that the little girl hinted that she would become a school dropout.
Sharing the clip of her announcement on X formerly known as Twitter, one fan wrote, “So she dropped out of Elementary School??” And another added, “Homeschooled.” Another fan wrote, “Mom is a plastic p*rn maker and dad is a whackaholic and she’s ‘dropping out of elementary school.'”
Their reaction to the school dropout announcement comes a month after Kanye took to social media to rant about the school his children are currently attending and called it “Fake school for celebrities that are used by ‘the system.”
He specifically called out the name of the school his kids were attending and ordered Kim to take them away from there.
In the post, Kanye who shares four children North, 10, Saint, eight, Chicago, six, and Psalm, five, with his ex-wife Kim wrote, “Kim take my kids out of Sierra Canyon now it’s a fake school for celebrities that are used by ‘the system.’ At this point, everybody knows what ‘the system’ is code for.”
He continued, “I was removed from my dad by the system and the system removed me from my children. When the system drafts athletes they avoid working with those who have their father in their life because they are harder to manipulate. My two oldest know who they daddy is.”
