Movie public relations campaigns typically cost enormous amounts of money. But the attention surrounding the film Don’t Worry Darling didn’t cost a dime. Because rather than stemming from media ads and posters, Olivia Wilde’s movie stole the spotlight with off-set drama featuring Olivia, Florence Pugh, and Harry Styles.
As a result, some wondered if the mostly negative rumors would destroy the potential profits at the box office. Find out whether ticket sales soared or fell. And don’t worry about catching up with the Don’t Worry Darling drama: We’ve got the latest below!
Drama Surrounding ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ Gets More Attention Than Movie
Hollywood experts questioned just how the brouhaha surrounding Don’t Worry Darling would impact the box office. And some predicted doom because of all the gossip about cast members. However, producers of the movie just got a happy surprise in the box office numbers, according to TMZ.
Based on the movie profits thus far, it appears that producers really didn’t need to worry about the Don’t Worry Darling off-set antics. And several reasons exist for optimism. For instance, this weekend, the film will likely take in $21 million. Putting that in perspective, the movie cost about $35 million to create.

And producers got an early indication that the off-set drama benefited the box office. Because they decided to limit screening previews on Thursday, some experts predicted that the box office figures would prove dismal. But instead, the film raked in $3.1 million in the limited screenings.
‘Don’t Worry Darling’ Off-Set Antics Turn Into Box Office Boon!
In the wake of the limited screenings, Don’t Worry Darling aimed for a full opening on Friday. And the day resulted in $6.3 million. As a result, the film total currently shows $9.4 million. And if it continues, it will bank much higher than all the projections.
Because so much negative drama emerged from the film, experts predicted that the movie would total in the mid to high $10 million range. But given the totals thus far, it looks as if producers should consult a Magic 8-Ball rather than those experts! And it doesn’t look as if the drama will end anytime soon. Florence Pugh and Olivia Wilde rumors continue to go viral.

However, Florence posted on social media about her experience on the film. But while she included various crew members, the actress pointedly did not mention Olivia. And Pugh wrote, “I will always be grateful. To all of you who helped make this, your dedication and love was seen daily – thank you.”
As for the cause of the alleged feud between Florence and Olivia, it reportedly concerned Wilde repeatedly missing from the set. And (no surprise here) her buddy Harry Styles allegedly accompanied her on those outings. As a result, Florence and Olivia even began screaming at each other on the set. And Pugh paid the price in getting pushed to promote the movie. Just in case that drama didn’t provide enough fuel for rumors, Harry and Olivia keep making headlines for their off-again, on-again romance!
