Oscar Winning Actress Jamie Lee Curtis Makes Surprising Career Moves

For many entertainers, adding an Oscar to their belt of achievements is a pretty cool thing. But to Jamie Lee Curtis, it just gives her more reason to expand her creative endeavors.

For one, she returned to TV in “The Bear” and the entire thing played out on a haunch. Imagine watching TV and immediately vibing with this character, who has been mentioned but hasn’t been introduced yet.

In Curtis’ case, she didn’t only vibe with the character, she ended up playing her. And oh, for the “Freaky Friday” fans, the movie is returning, with Curtis and Lindsay Lohan set to return. Talk about major career moves.

With the help of her co-star Lindsay Lohan, who said that she would be excited to return to film with Curtis, Disney listened and a “Freaky Friday 2” has entered production.

The announcement came a day after Curtis re-shared a reunion pic of her and Lohan, captioning it, “DUH! #FFDEUX #Disney.”

But that’s not all, Curtis is also working on a “movie with James L. Brooks.” She credited this to her Best Supporting Actress win at the Oscars, which she said affected her career “in really incalculable ways.”

What Jamie Lee Curtis Says About Her “The Bear” Appearance

Playing Donna on “The Bear” was a given for Curtis. “Sugar asks Carmen if he had spoken to their mother, in that second I knew that I would play her,” Curtis revealed last year.

“Don’t ask me how. I just knew. A year later, after the wild success of the brilliant first season, [series creator] Chris Storer offered me the role of a lifetime.”

Sharing a peek into Donna’s personality, she wrote, “There’s not a person alive who won’t relate to what it feels like to be around someone like [her]. I certainly have my own experiences. That’s what makes the show so magnificent. We can relate and commiserate and celebrate all of our communal survival in this thing called…. life.”

Fans were so supportive of her new role that many told her to start “polishing her Emmy speech” at the time.
