If Paris Hilton‘s not complaining, why should anyone else? And yet that’s exactly what a couple of people did when Hilton shared beautiful pictures of her and her son. Here’s the lowdown.

How did a baby’s first trip to New York pictures turn into a battleground for exchanging words and criticizing a toddler?

The “Simple Life” alum took to social media to share a series of pictures of her and her beautiful baby boy, Phoenix, who is 9 months old, at New York.

It didn’t take long for the internet warriors to decide that he was a sick boy and comment on the size of his cranium.

“Does he have encephalitis?” asked one commenter. “Like what is actually going on I’m not trying to be rude that doesn’t seem normal.”

Several comments like this followed, with one poking fun at the child’s expense, writing, “y’all he’s just got a lot on his mind.”

The “Paris in Love” star, 42, apparently saw these twisted comments and was hurt by them, enough to respond to them.

“ There are some sick people in this world,” she said in the video message .“My angel is perfectly healthy.” For all the worry worts out there who care more about her baby than she does, she added, “And yes, of course, he has been to a doctor, he just has a large brain.”

God knows Paris Hilton has seen the worst of negativity comments during her days, and while she’s come to terms with it being a part of celebrity life, she doesn’t understand why her son – young as he is – isn’t considered off-limits to people.

“Living life in the spotlight, comments are inevitable, but targeting my child, or anyone else’s for that matter, is unacceptable. This hurts my heart more deeply than words can describe,” she shared on her Instagram Story later on.

“I’ve worked hard to cultivate an environment that is all about love, respect, and acceptance and expect the same in return.”

She continued, “Phoenix is my world and has been the biggest blessing of my life. Every day with him is a reminder of what truly matters. It’s hard to fathom that there are people who would target such innocence. I hope that people can treat one another with more kindness and empathy.”

Paris Hilton welcomed Phoenix via a surrogate with husband Carter Reum in January.
