Phil Baroni Arrested On Murder Charge, EX-UFC Star Accused of Allegedly Killing Girlfriend in Mexico

Celebrity news reveals that Phil Baroni, a former UFC star, has been arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend in Mexico. According to TMZ the horrendous report about the weekend slaying is made worse by truly gruesome details.

The outlet reports that Mexican publication Tribuna De La Bahia ran a story after, “police found Baroni’s girlfriend naked and unresponsive in bed with a sheet covering her. The report says cops noticed bruises and markings all over her face and body … and she showed no sign of life.”

Furthermore, when authorities took stock of Baroni’s lifeless body, they then allegedly saw that Baroni’s hands were red and they photographed both hands. Baroni was arrested and remains in jail.

UFC Star Allegedly Killed Girlfriend

This is where the story convolutes: Baroni is said to have told authorities, of his own volition, a tale of what happened. Apparently the retired fighter went to the authorities, “and told them he got into a drunken argument with his girlfriend in their hotel room when things turned physical. Baroni reportedly told police he was upset after finding his GF slept with another man, so he told her to take a shower — but she refused.”

According to the 46-year-old Baroni, he grabbed his girlfriend by her arms and forced her into the shower at which time she hit her head.

Phil Baroni Accused of Killing

The former fighter, allegedly under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time of the incident, stated that he helped the woman, “out of the tub,” as she was unable to do so on her own. According to him, he then placed her on a bed, removed her clothes and wrapped her in a blanket after she stated she was “cold.”

Baroni says he then went out to get her cigarettes and beer, “per her request.”

When he came back to the room, he believed the woman was asleep, according to the story he told authorities; TMZ claims that, “Tragically, she was deceased.” An autopsy will be conducted to a cause of death.

Phil Baroni Under Arrest

During his career the former MMA star starred in numerous promotions such as the UFC, Pride and Bellator. Baroni lost his last fight, via submission, in September 2019. He remains in jail and there is no word when or if he may be released.
