From talking and writing about the best recipes to try out for every occasion to actually serving as the “food inspector” for her daughter’s big day, she’s cemented herself as a bona fide food advisor. So, what’s her secret to losing that much weight?
Ree Drummond Shares Her Weight Loss Journey
Ree Drummond is certainly making big strides in her weight-loss journey which she started in January. The 52-year-old took to her TikTok account and Instagram story over the weekend to share where she is at in her weight-loss journey, and she started by letting her fans know that the pandemic affected her eating diet.
Some of us have experienced stress-eating disorders at one point or another in our lives, and what is the pandemic and its lockdowns if not stressful, but the good part is that the Pioneer Woman star acknowledged in her clip that she understands the struggle, having lived through it. “I can’t get away from food and I love to eat. Of course, it crept up on me through the years, especially during COVID,” she shared.
“Starting in January, I decided to get busy and lose some weight,” Drummond continued, adding that she’s actually shed 38 pounds already.
As for the secrets to her success, she admitted that there are “no gimmicks at all. I just cut calories, exercised more, lifted a lot of weights. I look better but I feel so much better and that’s what really counts.”
After revealing the method behind her weight loss, the food blogger stepped back from the camera to have the audience check out her new physique, saying that she may be in a new body with more energy, but she’s still the “goofball” she’s always proudly been.
She also cheekily captioned the video, “Moving more and building muscle has been the key for me! I still love fries, though.”
Ree Drummond On Family
The Pioneer Woman has always been a family person, and with her husband Ladd, she has daughters Alex, 23, and Paige, 21, and sons Bryce, 18, and Todd, 17, and a foster son, Jamar, 18.
She celebrated her first child’s marriage to Mauricio Scott early this May. As the one and only Pioneer Woman, she of course had free reign on the wedding menu, even tasting all the food before the bride did.
As for the dress she finally picked for the wedding after many dilemmas, she went with a beautiful blue gown by Jovani, a nod to one of her favorite shows, The Real Housewives of New York.
“In recent months I’d ordered and rejected/returned about eight different dresses, winding up with one additional (non-Jovani) option,” she wrote on her blog. “Until the wedding day, I still didn’t know which one I’d wear… but ended up going with the Jovani!”
