Priscilla Presley Shares Her Honest Opinion On Michael Jackson’s Marriage To Daughter Lisa Marie Presley

Fun fact: did you know that Michael Jackson was once married to Elvis Presley’s daughter, Lisa Marie Presley? No, well, they were barely married so maybe that’s why that chapter of their lives is not so well known.

However, at the time, their surprise marriage and quick divorce made headlines around the world. Decades later, Priscilla Presley is sharing her two cents on the marriage.

Priscilla Presley Doesn’t Believe Michael Jackson Married Her Daughter Because He Loved Her

Elvis Presley’s fame still burns bright to this very day even though he died at a young age, and while Michael Jackson is undoubtedly one of the biggest performers in history, Priscilla Presley still believes he was awed by Elvis Presley’s name and wanted to be associated with it.

Even though Michael met Lisa Marie when she was a young girl in 1970, they reconnected in 1992 when she was still married to Danny Keough. A year later, Lisa Marie tied the knot with the ‘Smooth Criminal’ hitmaker.

“I always felt that Michael Jackson loved Elvis, or respected Elvis, so I always felt that having the name associated with the name with his daughter, I was concerned,” she said, recalling what Lisa Marie once told her, “‘Mom, I’m really concerned.’ ‘I never see him. He is always gone.’”

Even though Lisa Marie and Michael’s marriage was short-lived, they still kept in touch years after they went their separate ways. Their last chat reportedly took place in 2005, four years before Michael’s death in June 2009.

Lisa Marie’s Upcoming Memoir Will Explore Her Marriages To Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage

In Jan. 2023, Lisa Marie died after being rushed to the hospital. On the first anniversary of her death, it was announced that her daughter Riley Keough had completed a memoir she started.

“Riley knew that it was time for Lisa Marie’s voice to be heard,” Random House said of the memoir dropping on October 15. “She listened as Lisa Marie told story after story about the unconditional love she felt from her father, about being upstairs at Graceland, just the two of them, a sanctuary from the chaos of her life. About Lisa Marie’s complicated relationship with her mother Priscilla.

About growing up with the clicking cameras perpetually at the door. About her own wild love stories, and her marriages to Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage. About motherhood and the shattering loss of her son, Riley’s brother Benjamin Keough, to suicide.”
