Lisa Marie Presley’s memoir has been released posthumously, however, it contains some shocking allegations of the most traumatic events in the late singers life. One of these allegations is sexual abuse at the hand of her mother’s ex, which she claims started at age 9.
The Memoir Is Titled From Here To The Great Unknown
In the book, Lisa, the only child of rock icon Elvis Presley describes in great detail disturbing allegations against her mother’s ex boyfriend, Michael Edwards, who began dating her mother when she was only 9 years old. Lisa Marie claims that Edwards molested her after he and her mother began dating.
According to Lisa Marie, Edwards molested her when she was ten. Edwards dated her mother for about seven years. Edwards is in the acting industry and has even starred in movies such as The Terminator.
The Alleged Abuse
Lisa offers details of the first time Edwards ever touched her inappropriately. Lisa stated, that she “woke up to find him on his knees next to my bed, running his finger up my leg under the sheets, and if I moved, he stopped—so I moved.”
Lisa then wrote that when she was 10, “He said he was going to teach me what was going to happen when I got older. He was putting his hand on my chest and saying a man’s going to touch here, there, he put his hand between my legs, and he said they’re going to touch you here. I think he gently kissed me and then left that night.”
Lisa Marie Confided In Priscilla Presley
Lisa goes on to say that she told her mother what happened. Priscilla reported went into a fit of rage that included going to her room and slamming the door before returning saying that Michael wanted to apologize.
Lisa says he told her, “‘I’m so sorry, but in Europe that’s how they teach the kids so that’s what I was doing,’” She also revealed that he continued to molest her as well as spank her.
Edwards, who is now 80, say no one contacted him about these allegations or anything to offer him a chance to defend himself.
However, he goes on to say that he is in shock, he was like a father to Lisa Marie. However, Edwards admitted in his memoir in 1988 entitled Priscilla, Elvis, and me that he developed inappropriate feelings for Lisa as she grew older.
Inappropriate Feelings
Edwards describes a day in the pool when Lisa wrapped her legs around him as he bounced her up and down. “I became aroused. A sick feeling crept slowly into the pit of my stomach. I was craving Lisa sexually.
Edwards explained, ““Priscilla’s fears had been justified all along,” he writes. “My love for Lisa always bordered on intimacy. As Lisa grew to a young woman it was a constant battle for me to keep my feelings in the proper perspective. “When Lisa threw her arms around me in a daughterly way and said, using one of her many pet names for me, ‘Merky, I love you. You’re so cute,’ I melted. She unknowingly exuded the same power of sexual charisma that her father had wielded over millions.””
Now that Lisa isn’t here to defend herself and her allegations, this must be a mute point. However, if this has come out years ago things might have been a whole lot different.
