Quentin Tarantino Blames Alec Baldwin for 10% of Rust shooting

Quentin Tarantino Blames Alec Baldwin for 10% of Rust shootingDirector Quentin Tarantino has always come across as controversial and now is no different. He recently made a statement on the Club Random podcast with Bill Maher that it is his opinion that the shooting was only 10% Baldwin’s fault, he said that actors should always check their weapons and make sure there is not a bullet in the barrel

before using it in a performance, but mostly he blames the armorer, Hannah Guiterrez-Reed with 90% of the crime.

However SGA-Aftra disagrees and has previously put out statements contradicting those of Tarantino stating that it is not the actor’s job to check weapons beforehand.

“BS Charges”

That is exactly what he called the charges against Baldwin in the interview, BS charges. Back in July these charges were dismissed by a judge after it was revealed that the prosecution placed evidence in an improper file, hiding it from AB’s legal team.

This has resulted in Baldwin filing suit against special prosecutor Kari Morrissey along with the Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza.

What Does The Baldwin Legal Team Have To Say?

So far, no comments coming from them, but if there is still litigation to be had then they are bound to be tight-lipped.

While it looks like the possibility of a criminal case is over with, at least on the Baldwin end, there could be punitive damages to be had still and that means the less said (for now at least) the better.

Often, always do not want to risk any potential legal vulnerability to clients, so they save all of their information for when they are in front of a judge and most of the time it works out better that way… at least in the case of the client.

A Smidgeon Of Justice

The armorer, Hannah Guiterrez-Reed was sentenced to 18 months for her responsibility in the shooting of Halyna Hutchins.

Though it’s been said that she wants her conviction thrown out after the Baldwin trial, but upon seeing footage of the judge who convicted her dress her down in the courtroom, it really does not look like that’s a possibility that she should hope for anytime soon.

Considering a woman lost her life, 18 months is nothing, and there is no bringing Halyna Hutchins back to her family, she is gone forever. 18 months is nothing compared to the pain they will feel for the rest of their lives.

Does Tarantino have a point?

On the day the charges were dismissed, Baldwin was visibly emotional in the courtroom. While we are not making excuses for any negligence that might have occurred we can certainly see where he would be relieved seeing as he was the one who fired the gun, even if it wasn’t entirely his responsibility to make sure that the weapon wasn’t loaded.

In a way, Tarantino has a point, but that doesn’t change how messed up the situation is for everyone involved. Stay tuned!!!
